Denim is so personal –– we all have our favorite brands that fit us well… but sharing the washes / styles I’m into this fall. High-rise straight leg cuts and slightly wider styles along with a classic vintage Levi’s are my preference (on me) for this fall season. I’ll forever be a denim girl –– living in a slightly looser boyfriend style most days of the week.
A few pairs of note:
I just got this wide leg pair from Veronica Beard and it fits so well. It’s an elongating, flattering high-rise. You know I’m petite so I probably cut about 2/3 inches off the bottom but since it’s a frayed hem that makes chopping them yourself super easy.* I tried this pair of Toteme jeans which just feel so fresh right now but sadly they didn’t work on me (they were too baggy / wide in the legs on me)… but I love them for someone else, if you have a few more inches on me, I’d try them! You can’t go wrong with a classic dark denim (I haven’t tried these but love this wash / cut), black denim or washed black denim (and in a slightly looser / straight leg fit).
* When chopping jeans yourself simply try them on, pin or mark where you like the length and then I lay mine flat on a hard surface and cut straight with very sharp scissors. If you don’t want your jeans to fray very much you can take them to the dry cleaners (which will preserve the life of your favorite vintage styles). That’s my best pro tip! Worth the dry cleaning dollars in my opinion.
