Floral-Topped Cheese Board

Warmer temps are exciting me for snack boards and afternoons spent lounging in the sun! I pulled out our Wrel oak serving board last week for an impromptu late afternoon bite with Rex and Willow and topped it with edible flowers… just because! I threw together whatever we had on hand at the moment (not thinking I would photograph it)… but it ended up looking so pretty that I was inspired to share the moment thinking it would be sweet for Valentine’s Day… but also beyond, all spring and summer long!

Whether hosting or just making afternoon snacks at home feel a bit more special…

Our local Sacramento Co-Op and farmers markets usually have edible flowers but you don’t have to necessarily use edible ones, you could top with any flowers from your garden, petals or herbs. I love making the everyday snacks and mealtimes feel special in small ways. We as mothers make so many meals so we might as well make it beautiful.

I’ve found such joy in the kitchen again lately. It’s truly such a happy place for me! I am knocking on wood as I type this but I feel like I’m finally coming out of the challenging years / months of holding a baby while trying to prep dinner (or someone was always crying and pulling on my legs during the witching hour)… and cooking dinner is becoming fun again! Rex and Willow have started playing together more and more over the past year which means I’ve been able to cook more and spend more time experimenting in the kitchen again! There’s a light at the end of the tunnel mamas!

Cherry and almond blossoms are always my favorite this time of year!

A great bodysuit if you’re in the market for one. I love how this one sucks everything in––also love in white for spring / summer date-nights.
