After a Q on Instagram … about a day-to-night black bag under $1K… I was excited to round up some options for you and wanted to dive in a little more here as there are so many great ones! Most of which are under or around that $500 price point too.
I also included some color… because Spring! I personally have a little red bag on my wishlist.
I really love the less structured / simple look of this one. It is divided into three sections which would be nice for travel especially (where my mind goes)… passport / wallet etc. And it’s under $500.
DeMellier has some of the best bags for the price point (around $500). I’ve helped a few girlfriends buy DeMellier bags over the past couple years and they just wear so beautifully. Personal faves include: croc-effect in black (resembles my Celine Box Bag if you like that look), and the saddle bag. They’re such gorgeous bags and an ideal day-to-night size.
My girlfriend has this one in cobalt blue and I swoon after it every time she wears it. Such a fun color pop! I love it in the red so much… and eggshell is pretty for spring. Cons would be that it’s open on top (it does have a magnetic snap) and you can’t fit as much… (just the essentials). So it’s great for day as well as night when you don’t need to carry very much with you.

I own this one and it is a great medium crossbody bag size. I’ve traveled with it multiple times now and can fit a little more than just the essentials (my camera, wallet, phone, tissue, papers etc.) I also like that the leather is more durable and less precious… and personally, a scratch or two on leather just makes it cooler with wear in my book. The sculptural gold hardware adds a nice polished look which is nice for taking you into evening. I also love this shape / bag style in the brown.
