We spent the past four days with friends poolside in Cabo and it was just the absolute best kick-off to summer. Mentally I’m still there today as I type this while watching Willow swim at our neighborhood tennis club pool. It’s just not the same poolside vibe with all of the kids yelling at you… ha!
We made a handful of restaurant reservations in town but ended up canceling almost all of them in favor of staying at the resort and rolling with our days. We just didn’t want to leave Las Ventanas. I had my fair share of quesadillas, tacos and ceviche… so good! The tequila and ceviche bar is not to be missed! We did venture out one evening for dinner at Acre which was such a fun vibe for evening and super yummy. And on our last night we ate at Arbol… for a family style Thai / Indian meal that hit the spot.
I had so much fun planning and packing for this weekend… and brought a colorful assortment of options to wear. I had been saving a couple dresses for the trip but honestly, mainly lived in my bathing suit and coverups which is a great reminder that you don’t need much when it comes to a beach-y / poolside vacation this summer.

On the plane: I wore this By Malene Birger sweater which is the most fun pop of orange / red (and currently part of their summer sale). I ended up throwing it over my shoulders the evening we went out to Acre just in case I was cold but I didn’t end up needing it after all. The weather was absolutely perfect!
I packed a couple Johanna Ortiz dresses (my absolute favorite for special resort-style pieces) that I was excited to wear. I brought this dress from Mytheresa, originally thinking I’d wear it to dinner but it’s also casual enough to wear over your swimsuit… Also, I think that’s what I love so much about Johanna Ortiz. Such fun prints, bold colors and playful pieces that can be worn more casually during the day or dressed up for evening. (A few more I’m into that would be so fun for a special occasion: here, here, here, here (on sale), here and here).

I’m such a fan of a wrap-style beach / pool cover-up and brought one from Agua By Agua Benedita (similar, also love this blue one). I love a wrap-style cover-up so much because it’s such a chic way to style your swimsuit and an easy way to roll from the pool to your next meal.
I went with a bit of an orange and green theme… unintentionally this trip… pairing almost everything with red sandals. This slide is a splurge but so comfy and the color is perfection!
