Closet Heros with Mytheresa: Ankle Boots

I’m so thrilled to be partnering with Mytheresa over the next few months to bring you a style series of sorts… I’m planning to share some thoughts on my own style, the pieces I rewear all the time, pieces worth the investment and what I’m into at the moment. I hope it’s fun and helpful for you! (I loved putting together this edit with Mytheresa back in September and wanted to do something similar but breaking it down a little. Also taking into account the style questions you sent my way this fall!).

MyTheresa is a go-to site of mine for designer items. Their edit of designers is always so good, and they have one of the best personal shopping experiences online. There’s something that just feels extra special about receiving their cool bright yellow boxes in the mail!!

I’ve thought about my own personal style a lot this season actually because I’ve felt such a shift of wanting to elevate… not necessarily dress-up more… but dress more “city me” on the day-to-day (if that makes sense) which is my true style!… but motherhood, living in a casual city and not having an office to go to everyday tends to stop me from dressing how I maybe would otherwise. Do you ever feel this way? So I’ve been dressing more for myself again lately and it’s such an instant mood boost.

You’re always asking me about the basics so I plan to highlight my closet staples in this series and a few fall splurges from Mytheresa that I think are worth the investment. Starting with a closet hero of mine, ankle boots.

I’m a denim and boots kind of girl. It’s a uniform that has always felt the most comfortably me. I think a really cool / great boot makes the look. Jeans, a simple tee and a great boot is all you need. The boot I grab for the most is an ankle boot. I’m bucketing all of the ankle boot styles together here… a classic Chelsea boot, combat and lug boots (with a lower heel as my preference). I prefer to walk as much as I can, especially when I’m in a city, so I always choose practical boot options over style / height.

Rounding up my favorites and most worn styles below that I’ve worn for years and think are worth the splurge…

A true classic forever boot is the Chelsea boot. Saint Laurent makes the ultimate pair! I don’t own this exact one but have a snakeskin version from Saint Laurent that I’ve worn for years and it’s always an outfit maker. Another forever classic is this pair from Acne. Topping the list for sure if you don’t own this style!

Moving into combat / lug boot territory, I’ve had these Khaite boots (which also come in a gorgeous brown) at the very top of my fall / winter wishlist and thanks to MyTheresa, eek!, I can’t tell you how in love with them I am. They give just enough height, are super comfortable, look great with dresses and skirts and under denim. I love the unexpected look of a boot like this with a dress for event dressing this season.

Another boot I’ve been eyeing this season is The Row’s ankle boot. I wasn’t sure about the zipper at first but this boot has really grown on me.

Lastly, I love a slight western boot style for that Parisian-girl vibe. Isabel Marant does western styles the best if you ask me and this style from Isabel Marant is still one of my most worn for years now… along with the Dewina. Both are equally comfortable, and I’ve walked my fair share of miles in!
