Winter Style Guide with Net-A-Porter

It’s been a whirlwind of events and travel this December ~ but one thing I’ve loved is all of the various excuses to get out of my sweats! From the dance floor in silver sequins to packing my classic wardrobe heroes for a weekend in New York (some that have been hanging in my closet for 10+ years proving the test of time)… to munching on holiday tea sandwiches, ornament exchanges and Rex and Willow’s school Christmas pageant.

All of these occasions had me reflecting about my own style on the flight home from New York…

and the pieces in my closet I’ve continuously grabbed for to wear this season. If anything, I’ve noticed my main recipe for getting dressed relies on my mood but I much prefer an ease and effortlessness when it comes to my own personal style… and I always dress for comfort. Simplicity and classic staples mixed with the unexpected (whether that’s slightly edgier pieces, statement accessorizes or an interesting color combination). And if it’s a sexier or more feminine style I grab for leather or a more masculine pieces like a herringbone blazer / with statement jewelry or an interesting boot / heel.

Rounding up some December items from Net-A-Porter to hopefully inspire your holiday into NYE dressing!

* If you’re still looking for something interesting to wear on New Years Eve you can place your orders by Dec 21st for standard delivery and the 22nd for expedited.

– Craving a touch of red?

Alex Mill has a great sweater under $200, here’s another classic red option and I do love a statement red heel. And for more of a splurge… loving my loafers from The Row in this red as a fun pop. I love the red moment especially when it doesn’t quite go and feels unexpected (although I realize red is very expected in December). There were lots of red socks, red tights and red beanie moments happening in New York!

– More than any color this season I’ve loved navy and chocolate brown touches

~ headed somewhere warm? this is a cutie to carry. And a chocolate brown coat as a gorgeous rich switch-up for styling from black. I’ve loved combining browns, blacks and navy all together this season.

– Still looking for that NYE statement making top (or try this one ~ the back is the best part!).

We have lower-key dinner plans on the 31st so I’m leaning towards a fun top, jeans and heels. And accessories that make the look.

– Let’s chat jeans ~

I like a jean that’s a bit beat up… with a vintage feel (like this pair) to wear with my cozy knits this time of year. But there’s also a need for a clean straight leg dark denim (and a classic black jean) ~ that looks a bit nicer for whatever occasion might come up.

More to browse ~ whether you’re heading to the slopes, plan to get cozy on Nana’s couch for some quality fam time… are bundling up for a neighborhood sleigh ride or have a number of dinner plans on your calendar.
