The rain has felt never ending this winter / spring season so let’s chat trench coats! A true capsule wardrobe staple if you don’t already own. I’ve had a few different trenches over the years but this particular one from Isabel Marant is my most worn. It has truly stood the test of time. (I think I’ve owned it for 10+ years now?!). I love the way it drapes and feels classic but is still a bit more unique design-wise from your average trench coat. Again, proving to me that these are the wardrobe heroes that have become mainstays in my closet.
I wanted to find something similar for you for these rainy days and ended up rounding up a few options at various price points. So I hope this is helpful!
Mango has the best under $200 options at the moment. This double-breasted cotton trench is an absolute classic. I like the longer length which is always elongating and modern. I also always prefer when the belt is removable because I don’t always wear mine (or at least I like to have the option to leave it off so I can wear the jacket open).
Very similar in style with a detachable belt, this cotton trench is really chic. I love the look of the concealed buttons which elevates the look. It’s effortless, one to throw on over everything and has a lot of styling potential for layering underneath.
Lastly, this shorter cropped trench with lapels is a cute light spring layering piece. This cropped boxy design makes for an easy and casual everyday spring look worn with your go-to pair of denim.

J.Crew’s new icon trench is as classic as they get. The fabric is water repellent and comes with a removable hood which is obviously the most practical option on a rainy day. (Seriously though, how come more trenches don’t have hoods?!) And it is currently part of the J.Crew Annual Spring Sale!
