Such a simple go-to look for me from a day when it was cooler and I actually got to throw on a blazer in the morning. Fall is that time of year I crave more “city” looks again and I have been dressing as if I’m in New York or San Francisco. I definitely have my casual Sacramento mom-uniform (t-shirt and jeans or a Dôen summer dress) and then I’ll throw a blazer or more structured blouse and fancier flat or boot on for a city day. This is one of those looks that makes me feel the most like me.
Speaking of dressing for ourselves––this is such a fun conversation I love having. Also, why I love style so much… getting the chance to play up your various moods and discover what styles make you feel your very best. And I’m sure you’re all feeling that joy of getting dressed again this season after a year in lounge-wear.
My mood / style has been leaning more and more towards timeless and understated lately. I have a uniform and I stick to it! But that’s what I’ve loved so much about streamlining my closet and taking the time to really be more thoughtful about your own style. You can truly edit down to the pieces you wear the most… which makes getting dressed in the morning so easy.
Some Fall Style Finds and Wish-List’ing |
I just ordered this top which I’m hopeful will look good on me as it’s totally my style. Something a little interesting but still classic and black, duh. Easy to pair with jeans.
I’m on the hunt for nicer pant options (other than denim) and found these, also from Simon Miller.
The ideal sweater dress. I love the oatmeal color. So pretty with tall boots!
I’ve talked a bit about loafers here but I can’t rave about these from Freda Salvador enough. They’re comfy cool and an easy slip on option… I also love that the embossed croc makes them water proof so I never worry about wearing them on rainy days. They’ve been my go-to loafer for a couple of years now when I head into SF. And I have a code for 15% (ALICIA15).
A new splurgy sandal that is just so chic. I love the chocolate brown color and now want them in white. The heel height is ideal, they’re super comfy and look great with literally everything.
I’m on the hunt for a great legging. Something comfortable that I can wear for day but also dress-up for night with an oversized sweater / boot. This one looks like a great option but have you found anything recently?!
The Chelsea boots on my dream fall wish-list from Khaite.
These hoops are so gorgeous! I like that they’re classic but a bit non-traditional too with the slight twist. They also come in the silver.
