Tanner asked me the other day what I wanted to do for Mother’s Day and I honestly couldn’t think of anything besides well, a morning to myself! Lately, on the weekends, he’s been taking Rex to the river to play in the sand giving me extra time with Willow which has been both so nice to have that time with her and so relaxing. Willow still takes a morning nap so when she goes down I’ve been able to sneak in some time to read or even just cleaning the house with my earbuds in while listening to a podcast feels like such a treat! Fingers crossed I may have a quiet morning like that, a family walk, backyard picnic or al fresco grilling if I play my cards right. Also rounding up some additional gift ideas for any of the mothers in your life!
Chic Picnic Blanket
Give her the gift of backyard lounging… a chic picnic blanket (and maybe a book to pair with to complete her afternoon). St. Frank has my favorite super colorful splurge options (love this pink striped one), and another option for a save.
Baroque Pearls
Surprise her with a pretty pair of earrings–I’ve been really into baroque pearls and love these by Sophie Monet. I also have these on my personal wishlist along with a dainty pearl necklace from Beatrice Valenzuela.
Live Beautiful: Athena Calderone
For the design-loving mom–Live Beautiful by Athena Calderone is one of my favorites for the coffee table.
Earth Tu Face Vanilla Peppermint Lipbalm
Love these sweet seashell lip balms from Earth Tu Face.
Ozma Lounge Set
If quarantine has taught me anything it’s that I live in Ozma! It’s such an everyday wearable staple for me and I have this stripe pant and tank on my wishlist next. They have an entire Mothers Day Edit right now–and remember their bandanas are my favorite. (Code: ALICIA15 for 15% off)
Sweet Nightgown
I lived in a Dôen nightgown when I was pregnant with Willow and now that the temps are warmer in the evening again I’ve been pulling for it on the regular. I love this white cotton version and also have my eye on this sweet robe.
Make the Meal
Plan a family picnic, backyard grill or order her favorite takeout–plan the meal so she doesn’t have to! Fill a picnic basket with essentials: a bottle of wine, magazines, and bites.
Flowers by Oak & Ash
Of course, flowers are always a sure bet with mom! Simple cut from the yard-style as my dad always does for my mom is in my opinion the best. Sweet and thoughtful along with a handwritten card. If you’re local, Oak & Ash is currently offering a gorgeous spring market bunch for Mother’s Day.
Simone Bodmer Ceramics
A gorgeous vase or unique piece of art for the home–let her choose! Especially for the mother who has been in constant rearranging mode (me!) and wanting to add thoughtful touches to her space. Loving this New York designer for one-of-a-kind pieces: Simone Bodmer-Turner.
Curated Assortment
From her favorite teas, coffee or wine to her indulgence of choice (chocolates?)… any thoughtful curated selection is another sure win.
Simone LeBlanc Staycation Bundles
Simone LeBlanc has a lovely selection of curated Mother’s Day gift boxes right now–always so gorgeous and perfect for a pampering staycation at home!
