#10 Thing October 1

10 Things | Oct 1

I haven’t shared a #10 Things list in a while… a mix of things I’ve been watching, reading and of course style / things I’m into that I always love sharing with you… so what better time than the end of the month / beginning of a new one!

________________

I honestly can’t believe we’re heading into October. Tanner was traveling most of September so I’ve had my head down in the mom-mode juggle. This past week was also my birthday (37 on Sept 27th) which, besides Tanner being out of town,… was the most perfect low key girlfriend-filled day. I was feeling very sentimental this birthday thinking back on the different seasons of life and just appreciating this chapter I’m in with my kids, my people and family… which is what it’s all about. So very grateful!!

I’m craving cooler temperatures and a chance to wear fall layers (aren’t we all). I’m also feeling so inspired to dress-up again this season. And of course all of the leather jackets, fall hues and 90s vibes are really speaking to me. This month I’m looking forward to a trip to New York with T mid-October  and a date to make ravioli’s with my Nana. I’m not a huge Halloween person but of course love re-living the holiday now through Rex and Willow. We already have cut-out pumpkins in our windows (thanks to Rex) and skeletons up in our yard… we just need our pumpkins.

Hope this fall season is off to a great start for you too!

Watch | Tell Me Lies

Hulu has really been on a roll. I’ve been very into Tell Me Lies as are all of my girlfriends. If you liked Normal People then you’ll enjoy this twisted modern romance too. I picked up the book as well since I can’t wait for those 30 minute episodes each week.

Also on Hulu, my friend Kevin is in the new Chefs vs. Wild show. His episode aires next week so you’ll have to watch! And I want to watch The Bear next… I’ve heard it’s good!

Shop | Platform Heels

I’m loving all of the platform heels right now and you know me, I’m always looking for height. I know some of you have been craving a silver / metallic moment this season –– this pair is a good option / price point. I also have my eye on a few suede pairs as well as these or these. I just love that caramel brown hue this time of year.

Wear | Silver Hoops

A newer brand discovery of mine over the past couple of months has been: Lié Studio. I’ve been so into silver hoops and earrings and mixed metals again lately after wearing all-gold for years. I’ve been wearing this pair (The Ingrid) the most as it feels nice for everyday with just a t-shirt. I also love this pair (The Esther) which you can wear two ways with the added hoop.

Visit | The Madrona

I’ve been trying to be better about planning dates to get my girlfriends together now that so many of us are spread out throughout the Bay Area (and have kids),.. it’s gotten harder and harder over the years. But we have a future date to Healdsburg on the calendar which is exciting me –– I’ve been wanting to check out The Madrona, designed by Jay Jeffers which looks cool. Scribe also has a fall dinner there coming up … you should go if you can!, Scribe always puts on the best events.

Visit | Tunnel Tops Park

Another newly opened spot to go (with kids) — Tunnel Tops Park in San Francisco. A gorgeous new park with views of the Golden Gate Bridge in the Presidio. My sister and friends have all been going a bunch and say it’s so great (food trucks and happy hour for the adults too, count me in!). I can’t wait to take Rex and Willow to check it out soon. (They love the Discovery Museum which I remember going to as a kid too).

Wear | Cable Knit

Another brand crush of mine that you know I love for lounge / everyday wear: Sister Katie, launched their fall collection this week and it’s my favorite yet. I love the Julia cable knit. It’s an ideal slightly oversized cable knit if you’re in the market. It runs slightly oversized fyi so I’d order your true size.

The other smaller brand I love for their knitwear, Shaina Mote, also just launched fall and it’s so good as well. One to check out for sure for fall staples. The Mare sweater is a favorite of mine and a similar vibe if you’re looking for an ivory chunkier knit.

* you can use code: ALICIA15 for Shaina Mote

Wear | Shearling

I’ve ordered a few shearling / sherpa jacket options this season… and I’m just trying to decide which one to keep. Honestly they’re all keepers which is the problem.  This one exceeded my expectations and is beyond soft / cozy. I also love the look of this leather one with the collar (also from Stand Studio — amazing quality for the price point!). Then there’s this splurgy one from Acne (leather and shearling-lined) which has been on my dream wish-list all season along with this one from Toteme, also in chocolate brown. OR this cute sherpa jacket at a much better price in chocolate brown from J.Crew.

Gift | Glass Decanter

I know you’ll all love this hand blown glass decanter from Broc Cellars and Rafi Ajl, of The Long Confidence — it’s beyond beautiful and would make such a great gift along with their cute Broc wine glasses. They are my absolute favorite for small sips! Just makes whatever you’re drinking feel extra special… which I’m all about.

Wear | Sequins

I’m loving all of the sequins I’ve been seeing on everyone –– and it’s putting me in the mood to dress up big time this holiday season. I can’t stop thinking about this dress and this red sequin mini too. Moda always has the best edits (more sequins here).

Visit | Bungalow Kitchen

Another spot I’ve been excited to check out and am finally going to this weekend: The Bungalow Kitchen by Micheal Mina –– sounds like a really fun vibe / good time in the evenings but also, for a ladies-who brunch option! I’ll report back on IG this weekend.
