Similar Home Finds

Thanks to a few of you for tipping me off on some similar finds to the vintage chairs that we own and instigating this post! It’s been long-overdue that I’ve owed you a “similar home finds” post because I know how annoying it is when someone says, “oh, yeah that’s vintage.” BOO! I love the thrill of the hunt and have my favorite local and online home shops (Jenni Kayne, Diani Living, Elsie Green and One Kings Lane to name a couple that are also online) but I understand the search–and vintage–isn’t for everyone or everyone’s taste, so I did a little browsing around and found some similar items to what we own. Actually I had the best luck on CB2 for the price and look… so I also included some other items that piqued my interest as well.

Thanks to one of you for pointing out this leather chair that is similar to our vintage one (ours is by the Brazilian designer, Jean Gillon that I found locally at Scout Living).  I am actually torn on the colors here as I think the black is especially cool as well.  Obviously would depend on your space!  But it’s a great accent / statement chair that is also super comfy.

Love the look of this cutie chair and this statement one as well for a more elegant room.

I’ve been on the hunt for new towels for our downstairs bath and am loving this classic but bold black and white set.

On a bathroom related note, I’ve been looking for new bath mats and love this one from Parachute Home as well as this one from Jenni Kayne. Both are just super simple which I prefer.

Similar to the vintage wooden stools I’ve found over the years (a couple are from Elsie Green)–is this one from Serena and Lily.  Also, love these wooden stools from Diani Living.

If you’re looking for a classic look, my mom has this teak and white one and it’s super sturdy–perfect for toddlers!

I’m also always asked about the midcentury modern set of vintage chairs in our family room that I recently had reupholstered in cream linen to give the room a brighter feel (they were originally dark green leather). Well, CB2 also has a few very similar chairs to get the look and the reviews sound like they’re super comfy.

Similar to our vintage chairs in a cream (also comes in leather)

Another similar midcentury style in wood and leather

Love these agate knobs for updating a hall closet or making a simple dresser feel fancy.

I’ve been needing a soap dish and love the look of this pretty shell one

How pretty is this tray for a coffee table?

You know me, I love my baskets!  We have at least a couple in each room as catch-alls. I use them for everything from organizing tid-bits, toys, towels in the bathrooms and storing plants–you name it.  Most of mine are from Elsie Green (these large Moroccan baskets), Jenni Kayne (these) and the General Store.

I’m a fan of a more open weave seagrass and fell for these that I spotted in the Jenni Kayne Lake House.  (I have an indoor plant in the large size).

And if you’re a fan of leather, I also love this style for magazine’s or books in a kid’s room.

I love a marble side table.  I don’t know why but when I step into a room with marble it just instantly feels like “real grownups must live here!”  Anyone else?  It’s the perfect side table for apartment / small space living or to add another element of interest to any room.

This is a very similar bed to what we got for Rex for his room (on sale!).

And I’m also often asked about the wooden mirror in our bedroom (something very similar here).  While browsing I also, fell for this acacia round mirror.
