I had been fixated on finding a muted pink rug for summer as I thought it would be such a fun refresh and pretty way to add more color into our family-room for the season. Of course, it makes things easier if you have a friend who owns a gorgeous selection of Moroccan rugs (this feature on him is still one of my most popular posts!) and can bring over some color options to play around with on a whim. What originally prompted this switch-up… Rex’s red attack mark (see below). A.K.A. my mom fail of letting him color with these paint crayon pens (that I now completely regret every buying) while I was attempting to cook dinner. But after Ali and I rolled out a few more colorful options we ultimately decided we liked the neutral rug I already had the best as it made the room feel larger. Still fun to play around with color and pattern! And I do love that pink rug so much!! So what’s your vote? Are you into color or like to keep things neutral? Do you add more color into your home depending on the season?

And if you missed it, I also recently shared the beautiful pouf Ali gave me for Rex’s room! LOVE!
Original rug and my mom fail.
On Moroccan Rugs | I thought I was over them for a little while there as you see fakes everywhere now… but the vintage, real Moroccan rugs are just so beautiful and incredibly well made that I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of the real deal. Rugs you absolutely love are so worth the investment if it’s in your home decor budget in my opinion!
I just love the colors of this one so much! Maybe I need to find another spot for it still… although we’re running out of real estate. ha!
Option 2! A touch of pattern.
If you’re ever in Sacramento, Ali’s shop: Kechmara Designs, in the WAL Building on R Street is a must visit. He is the kindest spirit, and you can find him on IG too if you want your dose of Moroccan rug color in your feed!
Ultimately, we swapped my original rug around so the red is now hidden under the couch. Honestly, you gotta live life,… it doesn’t really bother me as things like this just tell a story! Can’t be too worried about material things with littles around is how I see it. Or honestly, it could have been me with a wine spill. ;P
