Woven Beach Totes

Woven Beach Totes

I just love a woven beach tote / raffia bag. Not only are they quite practical for spring / summer ~ they add to that carefree warm-weather spirit. Making the everyday almost feel like you’re on vacation! I have collected my fair share of woven totes and summery bags over the years and it’s always a popular question so I wanted to round-up some I’ve owned and have carried for years that have proven the test of time. As well as a couple of more current favorites.

I am typically drawn to the more simple, understated raffia styles and summery bags that I don’t have to worry about getting wet at the pool or sand in at the beach. A bag that is practical for mom-life and my lifestyle… that feels elevated enough for city life but that I can throw snacks in and also set on the bleachers at the baseball fields while watching my son play.

There’s something about raffia that just doesn’t feel too precious which is nice and a raffia bag wears so well over the years. A little wear on a raffia bag just adds to that carefree summer vibe in my mind!

I do love and appreciate this season’s designer raffia and woven tote styles as well. You know that woman you see on vacation reading her magazine with the Saint Laurent raffia tote by the pool… just the chicest. When do we get to be her? And when can we read more by the pool again (what age kids I mean lol)?!

Woven Beach Totes

Here are 7 favorites of mine that can be carried everywhere from the city to the beach and are quite versatile… bringing that summery carefree vacay vibe to the everyday. Which is what I want to exude in my daily spring / summer life!

Loeffler Randal

I think this Orion Crochet Raffia Book Tote is perfect for spring / summer. It’s a great size for a magazine or book, your water bottle and sunscreen. And it’s what I can see myself carrying in my neighborhood walking my kids to our tennis club this summer.

Sezane

This Justine Basket Bag has been my go-to this season for mom life. I have the medium size which is a nice bag for mom-life. It’s a great size for throwing in snacks for kids sports practices and I like that there are two straps for carrying over your shoulder / or your arm. It’s one that I don’t feel like I have to be too precious with.

Ulla Johnson

This is a cute stylish smaller style for those more everyday occasions and this is a great larger size for say, farmer’s market runs. Would be cute with your veggies or flowers hanging out!

Saint Laurent

I also always think of Saint Laurent when thinking of the chicest raffia styles. This oversized tote is ideal for that luxe vacation vibe (she’s that woman by the pool I mentioned!) and this style is a summer classic. One to take you from the streets of New York to whatever warm weather destination you’re off to.

Dragon Diffusion

Not one that is necessarily a beach bag but this has been a go-to carry-all bag of mine for a number of years now. You know my love for my Dragon Diffusion bags by now. I just can’t sing this leather woven bag brand’s praises enough. I think they wear and patina so well over the years and depending on the size / style can carry a lot. It’s still a bag I’m more careful with but I’m also not overly precious with mine.

In fact my sister spilled her glass of wine in mine a couple of summers ago now… so I bought another one, opting for this smaller size. It’s been a couple years now and it still looks brand new. I pulled it back out again this spring and have been carrying it with spring dresses and it’s just a great smaller / mid-size bag.

Khaite

on the pricier side but if you’re looking for something special for spring in the raffia department ~ this sculptural style from Khaite, the Lotus, is the coolest. Khaite’s raffia is definitely next level… you can tell the difference between the price points of raffia… it’s luxe!

Saint Laurent

And lastly, I love and have had this cutie smaller size from Saint Laurent on my personal wishlist for some time. It’s a spring / summer classic for everyday.
