Party Dressing

Party season is here and I’ve felt more excited to dress up this season than I have in previous years! Maybe I’m just ready to hit that dance floor?! I’ve created a few posts now with holiday dresses (here and here for some additional inspo)… but I’ve now ordered and tried on my fair share of options and thought I’d give you the scoop on my personal faves…

  1. this blush pink dress from Simkhai (also avail here, I’m planning to wear it with black heels that I already own / and an older silk black blazer but here’s a gorgeous one if you’re looking).
  2. this dress feels very Olsens to me and I plan to wear it with sky high heels and again my black blazer for that MK / Ashley vibe
  3. this sequin dress is a stunner (I ordered it in the black but ended up returning ~ sadly can’t keep them all ~ but I can’t get it out of my mind so if you’re in need of a black tie winner it’s on sale here and in gold here and champagne here!)
  4. this red dress is so elegant for a black tie

Some thoughts on investing in party style |

We have multiple events this season and it can sometimes feel like a lot when looking for a dress. Some years I might invest in a new pair of heels (velvet!) to spice up an older slip dress. There’s nothing more classic in my mind. I can also invest on a sweet vintage-inspired bag or this velvet bag. I also found some Row Ascot bag dupes. These would be so pretty even just to add a dressy touch to your denim. You can wear them even if you’re not headed to a formal event.
