Happy official, 2022 from me! I hope you had a restful (and hopefully healthy) holiday break soaking up your loved ones! This was the first holiday season in a very long time, probably pre-kids, that I remember actually feeling completely rejuvenated afterwards. All thanks to the grandparents for helping us out so T and I could get away for New Years weekend. Actually sleeping in, disconnecting from social media for a couple of days, solo time with Tanner, hikes through Big Sur, afternoons spent reading… it was pure heaven. Now I feel completely spoiled and wish I could start every year like that!!
I tend to ease into January at my own slower pace and like embracing the post-holiday bliss / cozy winter vibe. I’ve been cooking a lot––craving comforting meals, roasted veggies and soups with a glass of red wine at the end of the day. We’ve been going on long walks or just trying to do the neighborhood loop once a day, nature escapes and day trips are really filling me up more than anything! It’s been a good reminder, and I’ve actually made it my one resolution or goal this year, to fill my own cup up more. Easier said than done with two little ones, but I notice such a difference in myself, as a mother and in my creativity(!) and what I can give in return when I do. All that said, I’m feeling inspired to dive back in here so I hope you enjoy!! And as always, I never say it enough, but thank you thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all of your feedback and DMs this year––and for following along. I’m trying to find the best way to connect with you all in a more personal way this year and to bring you more of the content you’re wanting. Connecting with you and learning that my content is resonating and helping you in some way means so much and encourages me more than you know!
I’m planning to share more everyday looks per your requests this past fall and more collages… very casual this month but let’s start there… 😉
This cashmere beanie is my favorite––the fit is perfect and it comes in a number of beautiful colors. I wear the charcoal color the most.
I’ve been living in the above boots this fall / winter as a great knock-around pair. They’re older Frye that I’ve had for years and are just so comfy. A similar style that’s great for rainy days––Freda Salvador’s Brooke Boot (which I also have a code for 15%, 15ALICIA).
January Mood |
Lighting all of the candles and snuggling with my girl! Puzzling and legos happening over to my right (Rex). She’s obsessed with wearing her favorite dresses even when it’s SO chilly out, so we are in that phase! She makes me cold just looking at her bare legs, ha.
I love a creamy fresh January palette! Just scooped up this knit scarf on sale! And I’ve received a lot of Qs about my Row boots so I thought I’d share, yes I’m obsessed. I love the height they give me and they’re super comfy! I fell for the cream suede because I don’t own a pair of light colored boots but I love the brown just as much.
Her personality and goofy sense of humor these days is just so fun! I can’t get enough!!! I think she is going to be our family comedian. She gets us all laughing so hard in the evenings. Even Rex just said last night that she’s the funniest person he knows. (Heart melt!).
