December!! This week I kicked off the season with one of my favorite traditions my girlfriends and I started a few years back now ~ holiday tea. A chance to dress in my ladies-who-tea best, drink bubbles (and tea of course), mini sandwiches that never quite fill us up and catch up before the craze of the season. I’m always so thankful for my girl time!
The holiday traditions and time spent with friends and family leading up to Christmas are always the highlights of December for me.
We have a few black tie events (3 in 3 weekends which I can’t believe)… so it will be fun to put on the sparkles and hit that dance floor (party inspo here and here…and a lot of these dresses are now on sale!). I’m sure I won’t want to dress up any more come January and will be in complete hibernation mode. HA.
I wanted to send a more personal note today and a chance to play catch-up a bit as November was a busy one, and the weeks have felt way to fast to keep up. So hiii! And thank you for following along ~ for all your support and DM’s and e-mails and notes. I always love to hear from you and am so thankful for this community and the chance to share style / bounce some inspiration around with you! It’s made my own personal style journey that much more enjoyable over the years.
December! Things Of Note
Here are a few looks a lot of you asked about on Instagram so I thought I’d link them here!
From top Right
– Top right, in what I think is the perfect lady who goes to afternoon tea jacket. This was a gift from Veronica Beard, and I really love that this style is a bit longer. It looks cool buttoned just a few down from the top and worn with wide leg jeans too. A cool girl ladylike tweed vibe to me. Worn with these earrings from Dorsey which are so fun to dress up any party outfit (or make your sweater feel a bit more special) this season.
Museum with Friends
– I finally got out of my sweatpants after that post Turkey hibernation mode and put on a blazer (just a few sizes left in mine but this one is also herringbone perfection!) to go to the museum with girlfriends. Also, I wore this Khaite ear cuff which I have to tell you guys is not the most comfortable. I have about a 2-3 hour limit wearing it.
– Dinner with the fam in downtown Healdsburg (Molti Amici is a must). Wearing this Toteme boucle coat that I got last winter and is also a most lived in coat of mine over the last year. (Also obsessed with this newer style from Toteme! and Jenni Kayne has a similar style* for less).
* you can always use my Jenni Kayne code: ALICIA15
– My baby turned 7! AND I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE IT. This age really hit me as I’m coming to realize I’m not 31 anymore? In my mind I still feel like I’m in my early 30’s. I’m not afraid of 40, but it’s just made me think about a lot of things and has also put things in perspective.
– And lastly, a really great Shaina Mote sweater and barn coat*. I love the color and the contrasting corduroy collar and this amazing brand so much. It was perfect for our weekend in wine country and visiting back home in Northern California. The perfect Upstate NY vibe too!
* Oh! I have a Shaina Mote code for you too if you’d like: ALICIA15
