6 Great Black Coats |

One of my most asked questions lately has been about my black coat… most likely because I’ve been living in it again once the temps really dropped. Mine is older, the boucle style from Toteme, but if you’re on the black coat hunt and a size 38 you’re in luck! (and it’s now on sale) ~ and here is the exact coat in the wool version (in all sizes).

I’m such a jacket / coat person and truly believe that coats are worth investing in… for warmth!! Function and style… you wear your coats for years and years. Here are 6 amazing classic black coats that are all worth the splurge.

Let’s dive in a bit more here. If you’re looking for a good save option ~ this one from Madewell is a great runner up to my Toteme jacket. I also own this one from a project I did with Madewell this fall / winter. It’s almost identical but I do think the Toteme version is warmer. As one would hope considering the price difference.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I own 3 of the 6 on this list which is completely unnecessary but considering this is my job I’m happy to give my honest review on the 3 I own. So let me dish! The Toteme wool coat was my first black coat upgrade in years. I love this coat. It’s a classic and she’s a beauty. Then Toteme came out with the boucle version and I was smitten. The boucle isn’t as stiff as the wool version… making it a slightly cozier vibe but still that oversized style and silhouette I love.

(The Frankie Shop coat is an another good save option to get that same look as well as this Vince coat).

And of course, for the ultimate splurge ~ The Row wool wrap coat of dreams.
