5 Investment Pieces for Fall

Dreaming of all things fall during these 100* weather days this week… of course! I wanted to share a few of my favorite splurge-worthy investment pieces / closet heroes of mine that I’ve bought over the years and continue to wear and love. You always ask me about these pieces so I thought I’d dive a little deeper here. Along with what I have on my early fall wishlist…

And I’ll be continually adding additional fall wish-list pieces that are catching my eye here...

The Denim

You know I’m a denim girl through and through. I usually live in a very worn Levis’ boyfriend style but was craving a fresh pair that felt a bit more elevated and after trying a few styles decided these were the standout keepers. I love the faded blue wash and the fact that they can easily be dressed up with boots and heels or just worn casually for school pick-up.

Another denim fall buy (also from Khaite)… is the denim skirt (also love in black). The denim skirt is a major high-school throw back from me but also feels fresh again for fall and I’m really looking forward to styling this one various ways. It feels like a nice switch-up from jeans and a bit dressier if you’re looking to add a new piece to your wardrobe that you may not currently have on rotation. I want to recreate this look with a simple sweater and heeled sandal and also plan to wear it with a taller boot as the weather cools down.

The Boots

The Khaite Arizona boots (more sizes here) are my top vote for splurge boots year after year I wear mine so much. A forever, timeless boot style that looks great with everything. They’re easy to tuck into jeans, super comfortable and just the right amount of heel height (I can walk miles in these). If you like the more western style version, I have these and like the look as well but they’re just not as versatile as the classic in my opinion. Also, loving the flat, non-heeled version of the Marfa boot this season (more sizes here and here).

And topping my fall wishlist: The Dallas with the python-embossed toe is just so me. I had a gut feeling that it would be the It boot this season and they sold out everywhere in my size almost immediately… but are now available for pre-order.

The Knit Dress

It’s also no secret that I love a knit dress. Something about it feels so pulled together and sophisticated. They’ve become a go-to of mine when we have those in-between casual / dressy events… and I’m not sure what to wear, I know it’s always a trusty choice. This season I’ve had my eye on this dress (more sizes here) from Proenza Schouler. I love the color and fringe detail on the bottom. One to wear for meetings, work / dinner events etc.

A few others catching my eye: if you’re craving color and a bold pattern! chic and classic black, a gorgeous knit pleated skirt, also love this matching set.

The Carry-All Bag

I’ve raved about my Khaite August bag for a few years now but it’s definitely my most carried bag during the fall / winter months (more colors here). I love that the gold hardware makes it feel dressy… but the style is just so easy for that hands-free on-the-go mom-life / city mode. I would 100% rebuy the August and dream of it in the coffee suede or midnight blue. It can hold a lot and always looks cool in my book.

The Olivia has become another absolute favorite of mine from Khaite. The suede makes it feel dressier for evenings out and I love that it becomes the statement piece of the look. I personally love the midnight blue and baby blue… and I just find that shape to be so comfortable to wear around your forearm.

And lastly, you’ve asked about the Lotus tote. Which I own in the caramel suede but I think this dark brown suede is equally as gorgeous for fall / winter this season. It’s beautiful and one that is great for work. The main complaint I’ve heard about this bag is that it doesn’t have an inside pocket but I just use my own pouches to carry pens / small tech gadgets etc. If you’re looking for a tote style with a bit more of a unique shape, Khaite also just came out with the Sara Tote ~ which personally, I love in the green. Such a fun statement-making bag!

Oh, actually one more option for you that I think would also make for a gorgeous workbag and is on my radar to try on is the Cabas from Celine. It looks like such a comfortable one to carry too!

The Crossbody Bag

I was just asked again about my Bottega Veneta crossbody bag and whether or not I still love it — of course I do! I think it’s a great size for everyday / evening. I love that it’s non-logo and  the smaller braided leather is just so timeless BV. It comes in so many beautiful colors. This mushroom hue continues to be a dream fave of mine. And I’m loving this season’s chocolate brown. Again so timeless. The other crossbody style from Bottega that I also love that perhaps you don’t see quite as often: the mini Sardine (I love that you can also carry it by the handle and the mini size is just so gorgeous and dressier for evening).

Another crossbody bag / brand I’ve fallen for over the past few years is: Savette. Also, although not a crossbody is SO fun in the red.
