4 Shoes I’ve Been Excited to Wear Lately

Okay I’ve promised you a Khaite Marfa boot (more sizes and colors here) review, so let’s go! Spoiler ~ big fan.

But let’s back up, I have thought about these boots since they came out. As well as this pair. I finally caved and decided to order both planning to return one. Well we know how that went…

And since I’m really dishing here, I thought I’d share the four pairs of splurge-y shoes that I’ve been most excited to wear lately (all admittedly weather permitting)… but they’re putting all of the mood-boosting pep into my winter step.

4 Shoes I’ve Been Excited to Wear Lately

The Marfa |

The weather has to be just right to wear suede… and as a mom, they’re not the most practical, so I’m saving these for those perfect weather days and when I’m not running around with my kids to and from sports practices. But all that to say, this is a beautiful boot and the longer squared toe is such a flattering look, especially from the side. I debated the color too… always loving the chocolate brown but went with the khaki color as a nice option as we head into spring. Also, I think I held off on these because I didn’t need them… I wear my Row boots multiple times a week and like the height they give me. But the Marfa boot is a sleeker look that I’m looking forward to styling. I think it was this look that really sold me on them… chic but easy for everyday.

The Nevada |

This is honestly my favorite of the two Khaite boots (they’re so good guys!!) as I really wanted another dressier heeled boot option for evening. But something a bit more fun! I wear a black heeled boot all the time with jeans and the python cap toe just feel very me. These give me my ideal height boost (~ 3 inches) although they are also now available in a lower heel version if you’d prefer. They’re super comfortable and versatile (go with blue, black, white denim). And they also come in white and an all-black if you’re in need of a gorgeous classic dressier boot.

* Sizing Notes: I wear my true size in Khaite boots (36)

Speaking of those perfect suede weather days… I pulled back out my Row suede brown boots (over a year or so old ~ here’s another darker brown version in a few sizes) and I was reminded of how much I love them in the brown suede. It’s so good and just softens an all black look a bit which is my default most days in the winter.

Alaia Ballet Flat

And throwing in a bonus flat here… as I finally also went for it and got the coveted / hard to snag your size Alaia ballet flat *. I know I’m late to the party on these… I also debated them for over a year… too trendy? does everyone have them now?… but then I was finally convinced that I needed a fun flat. I instantly got the hype as soon as I put them on my feet. So comfortable and spark an instant dose of joy! They give just the right amount of edge to any look so I’m looking forward to styling. It’s been a rainy couple of weeks so I actually haven’t had the chance to wear them outside of my house and am looking forward to having an excuse to properly break them in soon.

* I also think this similar newer style is pretty cool and here’s a cute similar save option

** Sizing Notes: I also wear my true size in The Row and Alaia (36)
