Paying Dannijo a Visit {Part I}

I’ve been a long time fan of the sister-design-duo behind Dannijo, Danielle and Jodie as seen here as well as on our wedding day. So when Polyvore told me they had chosen Dannijo to be a part of Polyvore’s Designer Collective and asked me if I’d like to meet the girls and preview their latest spring / summer ’13 collection I of course jumped at the chance. Not only is their new tribal influenced line pretty freaking awesome but so is the Dannijo showroom (hello decor inspiration!)… as I’m sure you can imagine.

Selima necklace
 (one of my favorites).

What inspires you the most and can you explain the inspiration behind your spring / summer ’13 collection?

 “We’re inspired by music festival culture, travels, street style and old hollywood glam.” ~ Jodie

Our Spring/Summer 2013 collection was centered around a Peter Beard work we stumbled upon. His use of indigo, his celebration of the natural women and subtle integration of tribalistic influences really served as a driving force for PEACEFUL WARRIORS + TRIPPY HIPPIES.” ~ Danielle

Can you describe your design process?

“It usually starts with an image (ie: a landscape or scene from a movie) or a concept and builds from there. We’re very hands-on. We like to play with materials and color schemes.” ~ Danielle

Which pieces are your absolute personal favorites from this collection?

“My favorites are the Alexandria collar and Lovisa earrings.” ~ Danielle

“I love the Sienna necklace and Daphne earrings.” ~ Jodie

Horse love (so fun right?): Deacon necklace.

Serious cuff obsession: the Emmy. (Oh how I want you in my life.)
Cuffed and ringed… all.in.one. The Emeline.
The good news is I have even more photos to share with you (thanks to my very talented friend and photographer, Miss Lydia Hudgens) and will be posting a part II soon.
