Oh Hey 2023!

My Favorite Saying ~ which I’ve just decided is my 2023 Motto:

“I love that for you!”

Currently Reading: Circe (it had been in my “to be read pile” for a few years now and I finally cracked it open after a girlfriend reminded me of it this week). And next up from my TBR pile: To Paradise (remember how much I was obsessed with A Little Life, still the heaviest book I’ve ever read… hence why I’ve put off reading this one by Hanya Yanagihara)

Just Read: It Ends With Us, It Starts With Us, Ugly Love, November 9 (my first time diving into Colleen Hoover’s books and I couldn’t put any of these down. All are heartbreaking and with heavy underlying topics but quick, easy romantic reads. My favorite was It Ends With Us if you’re looking for a place to start… and I definitely cried at some point in each of her books so I’m taking a pause before starting any others). And for something very JanuaryManifest, 7 Steps To Living Your Best Life.

Watched: Lady Chatterley’s Lover, White Lotus

Scent Burning: Topanga * code ALICIA15

Wearing On Repeat: This coat and craving winter whites

Beauty Obsession: BB Crème (for that barely there flawless skin — the perfect amount of coverage)

January always starts off slow for me… and this week has been all about Willow since she’s still home with me. It’s been super stormy here so I’ve actually loved the excuse to plan rainy play dates with friends, drink lots of hot tea, experiment with new soup recipes, read a ton and just basically stay in that slow holiday mode for one more week. But I am very excited to get back to a more regular routine / posting schedule around here again when I have both Rex and Willow back in school. Next week is my week!

I don’t have any wildly inspiring New Years resolutions or “words” for the year… I think that comes with age and realizing you’re cool with where you’re at?… but I’ve always loved January for a reset. A reminder to be present, to enjoy your people and tune into yourself. Two things I took away from 2022 was how much a mix of both planning and spontaneity fills me up. I’m typically a last minute person but this past year I planned a bit more dates, self-care pampering, and travel on the cal and it gave me so much to look forward to. Especially having a bigger trip like Paris to look forward to for months. So we started the New Year off by booking our family summer vacation and putting more on the calendar in advance again, and it’s already exciting me! Highly recommend!… prioritizing my girlfriend time is so important to me and something that is tricky since so many of my best friends are spread across the Bay and country. So even just getting those phone dates on the calendar is something fun to look forward to.

Happy Happy New Year friends — wishing you the very best!! So grateful for your continued support and for checking in here… I’m excited to pour more love into the blog this year! xx

Quality time with W & R. The Long Confidence Tumblers (setting out a glass pitcher has me reminiscent of Chateau Voltaire Paris).
NYE I shopped my closet pulling out my oldest and most worn slip dress (similar) and my favorite vintage jacket find of 2022…
and rang in the New Year with multiple Negronis.
