Some of My Favorite Things | 17 Gift Ideas

Yesterday I was in one of my most worn looks for errands and school pick up… nothing too exciting but just those wardrobe staples that I always grab for and feel good in (these boots [more sizes here]*, these jeansthis bag)… and I realized I needed to pull together a list of some of my most loved items for you. As I always like to know what people actually use / wear the most. So hopefully this might kick start some gifting thoughts for you. It actually sparked some ideas for my gifting which I need to get on! I can’t believe we’re into mid-November!

* side note: I swear these boots were the Olsens gift to shorties. Oh the height they give me!! Praise be.

Handblown Glassware

I gave these Long Confidence tumblers (the most beautiful handblown glassware by Raj Ajl, in Berkeley) to Tanner last year for his evening scotch enjoyment and we have ended up using them daily as well for water. They’re extra special if setting the table or look gorgeous displayed on the bar.

Chic Stationary

Alissa Bell x Pierce Ward Gift Cards ~ when one of your favorite interior designers teams up with another personal fave for chic stationary! The ideal gift for the design-obsessed-card sender in your life.

The August Hobo

My most carried bag over the past couple years has been my August Hobo from Khaite. I know I’ve sung it’s praises over the years but I would be tempted to buy it again in another color (probably the coffee suede)… I love it that much. The leather is buttery delicious. The gold hardware dresses up my most casual of looks and that it’s a great hands free “cool mom” option.

Pinot Noir is the way to my heart

Forever pinot noir girl!… a true crowd pleaser to bring to any gathering if you ask me. Scribe is my happy place (if you’re a member, plan a visit with friends for this holiday season ~ or gift a tasting!). A bottle from either Scribe or Reeve is my go-to hostess gift and the bottles I open the most this time of year.

Jaymes Paper Notepad

Another stationary love of mine, Jaymes Paper, released the chicest of notepads for all of you note takers. It was a true labor of love for her to bring this baby into the world ~ leather (from Italy) and brass (from New Jersey), made in LA and assembled in Santa Barbara.

Silver Hoops

Silver hoops have felt like a fresh way to spice up sweater weather (these and these have been my most worn earrings of late). If you’re looking for a gift for a close girlfriend / sister… or to accessorize your holiday looks (how about these stunners!!)… go for a silver hoop or ear cuff moment.

Sakara Weekly Lunches

One thing I committed to this year when the weeks were feeling especially overwhelming was my health which included ordering Sakara. I became addicted and now subscribe to their meal program 3 days a week. It’s such an easy on-the-go lunch option for me and keeps me feeling my best. I highly recommend for those stressful weeks or as a treat to yourself in the new year (try their gut reset program I always feel amazing afterwards).

* Sakara is also currently running their Black Friday promotion (25% off)

Goop Beauty Scrub

You guys know by now that I keep my skincare very minimal… but I am diligent about exfoliation. I use a lot of Goop products and the one that I continuously rebuy is their scrub (which is now available at Target and Shopbop and would make a great stocking stuffer ~ along with any Goop Beauty products). Also, I like a very fine scrub and this one works well for me, keeping my skin it’s clearest.

Gold Locket Diamond Necklace

A newer addition to my jewelry collection that I’m obsessed with is this gold diamond locket necklace from Monica Rich Kosann. I have pictures of Rex and Willow inside from our summer trip to Kona that makes me so happy and this necklace even more meaningful!!

My Best Denim

Denim is my thing. I collect various washes and styles and it’s really the center of my wardrobe. I have always wanted a pair of Celine jeans and found the most perfect pair (fit and wash) this past fall in Paris. I recommend waiting and buying there as the price is significantly better. I sized up which I think is key to getting that perfectly slouchy look this season. But it’s a pair I know I’ll wear for years and years.

Another splurge-worthy denim to gift to yourself and try this pair (a flattering fave for sucking it all in).

Girls’ Spa Day

A getaway always tops my Christmas wishlist and a winter spa day is always a good idea. With wine country just an hour away from us, an afternoon at Stanly Ranch is just the best reset / recharge! A mix of spa time (just love that sauna) and an afternoon sipping wine with girlfriends is my idea of heaven.

* would make for a fun gift for mom!

Refillable Leather Lipcase

I bought this leather La Bouche Rouge lipcase last year when in Paris and it just makes me so happy to pull out and would make the perfect gift for your sister or I was thinking my Nana! Mine is red but it comes in a number of colors (and you could also gift the lip discovery set to go with).

A Great Fisherman Knit

This is my go-to fisherman knit. I wear it in gray all the time and it’s just one of those that’s great for layering. And currently 25% as the JK Black Friday sale is happening.

Zoe Dering Ceramics

I have collected an assortment of ceramics over the years that all tell a story when setting the table and Zoe Dering’s pieces are among my absolute favorites. This fluted bowl or serving platter (love this platter series!) would be so special for the hostess in your life.

15 /

Candles To Burn

This is the scent I always come back to and burn around our house the most these days ~ if you know you know, it’s just so good and inviting. I also like to switch to this scent around the fall / winter (gives a hint of a cozy burning fire).

* both are 25% off at the moment too

Moma NY Baseball Cap

For your art loving bestie who likes to go for neighborhood walks and used to live in New York: MoMA NY baseball cap.

Design & Art Books

Another item always on my list for gifting / receiving is art books. This past fall in New York I visited a few exhibits and now I want the books: Picasso in Fontainebleau and Noguchi Museum. Another topping my design book wishlist and this is a dreamy interiors one too that came out this year (by my girlfriend Caitlin and photographed by my dear friend Stephanie).
