netaporter online shopping

How do you shop?

How do you prefer to shop? Online vs. in person? Do you shop by outfit or by color? Do you buy what the sales associate is wearing, the items straight off the mannequin, or do you prefer to thrift the most unique and unusual pieces that no one else will have? These have been some of my favorite dinner conversations lately as I’m constantly wanting to learn how to be a better buyer and merchandizer (for Syllabus). Listening to everyone’s answers has been fascinating. We all shop so differently! (Side Note: Online vs. in person seems pretty split among the crowd I run with–with online leaning more towards the go-to option. AND seems like the preference for shopping by outfit is the winner. I like to shop by outfit as well but also appreciate an amazing edit by color. So pretty and easy to navigate straight to my favorite sections–neutrals, denim and blacks.).

One aspect we chat about a lot as a team over at Syllabus is the “time of joy” during checkout. We want to make this purchasing experience as gratifying as possible. Whether you’re shopping in person or online, checkout is something that needs to be easy and provide the best customer service possible. At a boutique it’s nice when the items are packaged up in a unique way–and online, check-out is all about efficiency. A seamless check-out is a must. When PayPal told me about their new One Touch option, I knew I wanted to share the news here because if you use PayPal as often as I do this is such a convenient game changer!

With One Touch you only have to enter your credit card information once making check-out that much faster. You can activate One Touch by logging into your PayPal account and selecting the option to stay logged in. This will allow you to stay logged in on any device for up to 6 months which means you will now skip any annoying check out pages. You can learn more about One Touch on their faq page here… shopping on-the-go just got a little more dangerousMy guy should be worried.

Browsing Net-a-Porter’s The Edit (my favorite fashion content on the web that as a bonus accepts PayPal One Touch). Additional guilty e-shopping pleasures that accept the one step check-out option: Netflix + Hulu (for my independent movie binges), and not my necessarily e-shopping pleasures but awesome for life: Southwest Airlines, and Dropbox.
