Wear Now NYFW Inspo | Khaite

It’s been years since I covered New York fashion week on the blog or for ELLE.com. Those fashion weeks when I was working / covering the shows for ELLE are some of my NY highlights for sure! I still get giddy thinking back on it… that I got to have that experience, to interview the designers and visit them in their showrooms and see the collections walk down the runways is really special. The energy in the room as the lights come on and the first model walks out… is just!!

I love keeping up to date with my favorite designers and watching the runway collections of the brands I’m the most excited about. New York Fashion Week is in full swing and while we’re seeing the pieces a season ahead (September is when the designers show their spring collections) I always find it fun to pull inspiration for the current season from the runway. It’s also a great way to make thoughtful purchases right now. I love seeing what the trends will be the following season and thinking about how I might want to incorporate those looks.

Khaite has become one of my absolute favorite brands for styling inspiration in the past few years. It’s a brand that gives me my dose of New York city edge. And also, I’ve been at a point of style evolution myself and craving more sophisticated, timeless pieces… but again, still with that NY downtown cool vibe. But I have found myself looking to Khaite first each season when thinking about any bag, shoe or major investment purchases.

Their show was so good on Sunday –– if you missed, it’s a must watch . Gave me my dose of NYFW I was craving!

Khaite Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear (available for Preorder… I just ordered these)

Here are my favorite looks from Khaite’s Spring 2023 collection that I would love to recreate to wear now…

The Wear-Now Inspiration | Oversized blazers with leggings or jeans and a colorful evening bag (carry now love!). I love the idea of styling my ivory blazer with a fringe skirt for evening / or a special event. Also, just looking at the top part of that look, styling an oversized ivory (or any color blazer) with a sheer top / black turtleneck… love! The oversized bomber jacket… the leather trench coat with a sequin dress. I loved seeing this look because I also have a low v-neck black sequin dress (more sizes here, now on sale!) from Veronica Beard that I hope to pull back out again this holiday season. Lots of oversized leather in general from Khaite… which I’m loving this return to all of the leather. And lastly, I had to include this holiday party dress inspo –– black sequins with the white feathers. I mean!!!

It’s always a fun way to see how you can recreate the looks with the pieces you already own or get the look for less… and make it your own. One tip is you can always size up in a brand to get that more oversized Khaite-esque / designer look.
