When I was going through all of the photos I took in Yellowstone last week they reminded me of postcards. I was blown away by the varying topography and picturesque views, it really was incredible. We had a few comical close run-ins with some bison, enjoyed spying on a grizzly bear (from the comfort of the truck) and admired, but quickly ran through, the stinky geysers. Unfortunately, we planned this cross country drive very last minute and couldn’t get a hotel reservation for more than one night in Yellowstone. It was such a shame to only be there for a little over 24 hours, but we still managed to get a great glimpse at the beauty and are anxious to visit again for an extended period of time. The road trip was a success and since I’m not the biggest fan of flying to begin with (I have a fear of heights) I actually wish we were driving back on the return trip to New York as well!
Stopping to take it all in.
The lovely smell of sulfur oozing out of a geyser.
Have you ever driven cross country before and if so, what route did you take?
