I’m in San Francisco almost weekly but very rarely do I get to stay in a hotel as glamorous as the Palace. (It’s more like the sister’s couch–or if I’m lucky, snuggled up next to her.) You’d think that after all these years I would have found a favorite SF hotel by now but I hadn’t… until recently, and my friends, it’s the newly renovated Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel. It’s luxurious, stylish, historic, and so classic San Francisco to me. It’s city gems like this that remind me of my Great Uncle Owen (who was like a grandfather to me). He worked in the financial district and I can only imagine him dining or taking a meeting here.
Originally established in 1875 and rebuilt after a fire in 1909, it was San Francisco’s first and the world’s largest luxury hotel. All of the marble, crystal (so incredibly stunning!), and authentic architecture are original but now a new 2015 design gives the hotel a fresh modernized feel. I was so inspired during our stay by all of the classic details and fixtures for our own home renovation–only confirming even more that brass was the way to go for us.
The Look | IRO Jacket + Top (use code: GIVEME50 for 50% off). Citizens of Humanity Denim. Marc Fisher Boots.
I just love the shape of these leather chairs in the stunning Garden Court. (Tea or brunch here is a must.)
I was given a sneak peek into the pent house suite and as you can see–yeah, I would totally stay here. The room below was my absolute favorite as the wood paneling and fireplace dining setting has such a rich feel. Would love to dine here.
Located right off Market Street, the Palace Hotel is the perfect spot to stay if you have meetings in the financial district or want to be centrally located. I do often cringe when out of town guests just stick to Union Square so you must promise me that you will venture out to the other neighborhoods as well. Use those Ubers!
The vintage prints along the walls of the gym were all too good and how about that pool?
The Pied Piper bar and grill… so old-school swanky right? Such a classic spot to grab a drink!
Fun fact: the painting above the bar (the Pied Piper) was originally commissioned for $6,000 and would now be worth 5-7 million.
The Look | Vintage Trench (crushing on this one). Isabel Marant Top + Pants. Alice + Olivia Pumps. Zara Scarf. Celine Bag.
I hope you get the chance to stay here! It sure was such a treat… thank you again to the Luxury Collection and everyone at the Palace!
