Our weekend in Montreal was a whirlwind but we’re so happy we decided to make the last minute trek into Canada. This eclectic city reminded me of a European version of Manhattan with charming neighborhoods, excellent food, gorgeous and unique architecture as well as quaint cafes and fun bars. We walked most of the city by foot but spent the majority of our time in the Plateau district. Saturday evening we grabbed drinks with friends at Bily Kun before dining at La Salle a Manger* for dinner. Another highlight was our delicious Sunday morning brunch at the adorable ivy covered bistro: La Croissanterie Figaro (a huge thanks to Kristin for recommending). Espresso, crepes, croissants and quiche lorraine filled us up nicely for our rainy drive back to New York.
Our only regret: we completely forgot to try poutine!
We will obviously have to drive across the border again soon to taste this dish.
