Oh isn’t it amazing what a long weekend away in nature can do for the mind, body and soul? I didn’t even realize how badly I was in need of a reset until we were there. I kept turning to T throughout the weekend saying, “this is just what I had been needing!” Easing into the mornings, exploring with our mini adventurer, indulging in all of the good things (um, yes please to daily chocolate chip cookies from Bovine Bakery), and lingering afternoons playing games by the fire while watching the sun go down. We rented the cutest A-frame cabin in our beloved Inverness / Point Reyes area, and loved this cozy cabin getaway so much that we ended up staying in every night, opting to cook dinners, watch family movies and laze around fireside. Also, some trips with Rex leave me feeling even more exhausted, but this weekend actually felt like a true vacation. We all slept in and it was just the best to see Rex so happy to be outside and in his element. (I swear he’s such a nature boy.)

Weekend Highlights and our Point Reyes To-do | Slow mornings fueling up for afternoon hikes. There are so many trails and beaches throughout the Point Reyes / West Marin area which is why we love coming here so much! After a morning hike grab lunch in the cute downtown of Point Reyes (this weekend we ate at both Station House and Side Street Kitchen–Side Street Kitchen is a nice casual little spot. We like to sit outside which is ideal for Rex). Pop into the cute Point Reyes Books for a few new reads, and grab cookies togo next door at Bovine Bakery. Spend evenings in cooking dinner together, reading, lounging and most importantly unplugging. This area is a fave spot of ours to recharge!

I’m such a sucker for anything plaid this time of year, and love the sherpa collar of this Eddie Bauer jacket. Plus this jacket is now on sale for $109! Such a great price. A few additional faves below… including this similar reversible style with a hood ($79).
We’re a big Klean Kanteen family over here. I always carry this one with me (I love how pretty and chic the stainless steel is). I also love these cute kid sized sippy cups! Rex is obsessed with carrying his on all of our hikes and is constantly telling Tanner and I that it’s time to stop for a water break. It’s pretty cute! Oh and these canisters are also great for traveling and snacks on-the-go.
