Bits From the Weekend | Carmel

Carmel! I have so many nostalgic memories from over the years in this sweet beach town. We usually come every December but have missed the past couple years and it dawned on me yesterday while walking the streets with Rex and Willow that the last time I was here I was newly pregnant with Willow. (Willow says she remembers being here!)

So it’s extra special to be back as a family of four.

This weekend we stayed at Carmel Valley Ranch which was so great for R & W. With acres to run and all of the animals (Willow was in heaven visiting the horses) they have had an absolute blast.

I wasn’t on my phone much this weekend which is always a nice break for me –– but I know a lot of you have been asking me about Black Friday sales! So re: the sales I’ve been tracking –– 1. Khaite’s 40% off (on select items with code: PREMIER). I ordered these in black suede (just so classic!) which I’m excited to wear with tights this holiday season. Also, ordered these riding boots in brown to try. Khaite’s boots and bags are so worth the splurge for me especially when on sale. The quality of the leather / suede is just so beautiful. Another sale that is exciting me, 2. Mytheresa’s 40% off Sale which, hot tip is going to get even better Monday afternoon (I’ll share some favorite finds with you soon… including my Khaite bags). Also really great right now especially for gifting, 3. J.Crew 50% Off. 4. Dôen’s Giving Thanks Sale! and 5. Jenni Kayne is 25% off (code: ALICIAMLUND25 good through 11/28)!

You can find my Holiday Wishlist here (trying to keep it updated and I am hinting to T)… some gift ideas under $200 and cozy finds. I’m really wanting cozy travel sets right now. After a few weekend getaways lately I’ve realized I like to dress comfy for the car ride but then want to look somewhat put together when I get there. I’m going to ask for pants like these. I’m also curious to try / asking for pants from Leset. Like these (for nicer black pant occasions) and these (for lounge and travel).

Wearing | Coat. Sweatshirt. Bag (40% off in brown leather here with code: PREMIER).

Dinner bound! We ate at the Hog’s Breath on this particular evening which is one of Tanner’s favorites since it’s just so kid friendly and chill in that courtyard. I love to sit by one of the fireplaces and cozy up with a glass of wine. Also, not pictured but a personal must every time we are in Carmel is a meal at La Bicyclette. Isn’t Bicyclette everyone’s favorite spot?!

I didn’t get to shop around this visit due to kids and spending most of our time at Carmel Valley Ranch or on the beach… but I did pop into: Somewhere in Carmel and House of Cardoon. Both were super cute and great for finding gifts. Rex and Willow picked out ornaments at Somewhere in Carmel and I snagged a bright floral / mixed-matched napkin set that I plan to set our holiday table with.

I lived in this sweatshirt this weekend –– and since I know you’ve been asking for more activewear brands, I wanted to share. This is such a comfy one but also looks nicer / stylish in my opinion from your average sweatshirt. Which in a town like Carmel where you go from the beach to a meal is nice.

I’ve been looking for more loungewear / travel sets (and pants like these) that feel a bit nicer but are also super comfy. So this is one for you to check out: Nylora –– and they’re having a great sale right now too (60% off).

Keeping an eye out for deer on our way to pancakes each morning at Carmel Valley Ranch. Actually I ordered a Belgium waffle this morning and it really hit the spot. I can’t tell you the last time I had a waffle –– maybe a year ago? Why?! So good.

Willow is my little horse (and animal) whisperer. We did the equine experience at Carmel Valley Ranch on this particular morning so she could spend time with the horses. She got to brush them which was a highlight for her and it’s just so special to watch her interact with them. Definitely a gift I think you’re born with.

I was fascinated to learn more about how horses can pick up on our energy / other animals energy from 50 – 100+ feet away. And Willow has such loving, accepting and open energy that they just love her.

Wearing | This set. These pants are a bit big on me but remember, I’m 5’1”, if you’re even just a few inches taller these would be perfect.
