Cheetah is the New Black has allowed me to explore and collaborate on many unique opportunities, although I’d have to say curating a Pop Up version of SYLLABUS in San Francisco with Cointreau has to be one of the ultimate! With a strong history of supporting the arts, Cointreau chose a select group of creatives to work with this year–yours truly included! The world-renouned orange spirit may as well be synonymous with beautiful soirees–because they sure know how to throw them.
We planned a photography class together earlier this fall, hosted out-of-town editors and bloggers for a foodie-meets-cultural tour of SF (more on that to come!), and for the grand finale–brought SYLLABUS to SF. I couldn’t have been more overwhelmed, thankful, and pleased with the turnout / overall success of the weekend! Here’s a little peak at our labor of love (huge thanks to May, Clementine, Nicky + Luigi!) and what went into the making of the space.
After sharing my inspiration for the Pop Up space and photos of our actual brick-and-morter–the Cointreau team found the ideal venue. We took over 1632 Market Street (a piano filled studio space) for the weekend, turning it into a magical twinkly-lit, Rickey serving shopping experience.
I loved how Parisian-feeling the Pop Up was–true to Cointreau’s heritage! No detail was left unthought of: a vintage poster greeted guests upon arrival and you would have thought we placed those vespas outside.
Gorgeous citrus and floral arrangements by Shot Gun Floral Studio really made the space, and quaint little Zuni Cafe just across the way only added to the seemingly-French charm. (I think we all ate one too many of Zuni’s shoe string french fries having spent 3 days across the street.)
The bar we brought in for the evening fit the vibe of the space perfectly. Earthy pots, blooms and tea lights were placed throughout the venue.
Additional decor elements were brought in: a vintage dress form from the store (my first ebay purchase by the way!) + numerous coffee table books
And lastly, what do you do with a piano in the middle of the room? Line it with florals and make it a focal point!
