#BTS: Punk’d Out Style

When we moved back to California I decided to go completely freelance–with the main focus on CITNB and styling–which has been exciting, and at times stressful and overwhelming. But mostly very exciting and completely rewarding! I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to take this leap and to be able to create my own schedule, and to work on projects that really push me creatively. I’ve taken on a few extra projects recently and wanted to start sharing them with you. To start, here are a couple behind the scene photos from a punk’d out holiday shoot that I styled in collaboration with my friend Michelle back in December.

Since my style has taken a turn towards the edgier side and as a nod to the 2013 punk themed runways I was inspired to mix sequins with combat boots and the typical little black dress with a bad*** beanie. The anti-holiday-party cool girl if you will. This has kind of been my modus operandi for a while now when I think about event dressing myself as a) I want to be comfortable and feel like myself and b) I want look different from the other girls.

This was just such a fun last minute shoot and I know it’s not seasonally appropriate now but I still wanted to share!
