I pulled out my bin of last summer’s attire from our basement before leaving for Palm Springs and found this little white dress. It was my LWD of choice last spring and into the summer (until my growing bump couldn’t fit in it any longer)–and was the ideal roomy silhouette to hide the bump when I wasn’t sharing our baby news. I think this dress also holds a special place in my heart because it’s what I was wearing when we found out we were having a boy.
Like the little black dress, the LWD is a summer staple–and a classic that you’ll have and want to wear season after season. Since I have a tendency to wear my pieces non-stop until I get sick of them, to make this little white dress feel fresh again during our trip, I belted it. A cool wrap style belt (now on sale!) added just the right amount of edge to the look taking it from more of a daytime look into evening. Since I was in the desert, flat sandals kept the look carefree (I forgot a black pair but in a pinch these worked) but you could easily dress it up a bit with a black heeled sandal and blazer or jacket for dressier occasions.
I’ll always be an aviator girl and have found this square shape to be a fun switch-up from the classic.
