Style Notes | May Mood

Every month I love to make a bit of a mood board… sometimes it’s just in my head, other times it’s on Pinterest or in my Instagram saves… and if I get around to it, I like to share snippets here but I haven’t been the best at that lately. Sorry!… getting back to a bit of more regular posting again, I’m hoping!

When it comes to style inspiration sometimes I love just running with a color palette or over all feeling––so I wanted to share some things I’ve been craving, wearing and have saved lately. A few style notes for May!

First I’d like to back up and say that the beginning of this year I was craving elevated basics. I’m still craving crisp white button-ups with wider leg denim and I’ve been wearing a lot of blazers again (oh how I’ve missed my blazers!). If looking to add some color into your closet, I love this soft mustard one from Veronica Beard. It’s ideal for spring and over dresses but will transition well into fall. A splurgy perfectly oversized black blazer I’ve been wearing a lot and covet is my blazer from Totême. Love love love Totême for basics. Another Totême closet staple for me are these leggings.

I’m also loving wearing a low heel again… that two inch height is really ideal for me. This is the heel I’ve been wearing the most (love it in the cream color too!). As a 5’1” shorty I need a bit of height to elongate my legs, especially if wearing denim. How are you feeling about walking in a heel again, ha?! Sticking to flats?

Speaking of shoes––I found a great slip-on style from Jenni Kayne that is super comfy. If you’re looking for a white sneaker! (As always you can use my code: ALICIA15 for 15% off).

Also craving breezy dresses because it’s already been a hot month here in Sacramento. I lived in this Summer Dress from Jenni Kayne last summer, and I love the new colors they came out with this season. Another classic breezy summer dress I love.

Wearing | Veronica Beard Blazer. Khaite Clutch. Vintage Levis (similar).

Also, note Ashley Olsen party vibes on my mood board and the dreamiest of dipper pools! I’ve been saving this pool style for years now into a dream folder and have noticed it popping up more and more on my exteriors Pinterest board. I’m not sure why more people don’t do this style of pool. Gives such vacation vibes to any backyard!
