Life Lately | March 1

I’ve really missed photo-diary type posts. I know they’re really much more for me and have always been a fun little creative outlet / place for me to share photos I’ve snapped of life… but I hope you enjoy. It felt good to bring the camera out this past Sunday and just to capture Rex and Willow. We had been down with colds for over a week and life has been so heavy with everything happening in Ukraine that it felt so good to get out of the house and to soak up some spring-like sunshine. So so thankful for them, for this community, to have a little creative outlet like this to share these happy moments. Thank you for showing up here and supporting me–I’m continuously blown away that I’ve been able to make this blog of mine into a business all of these years later. For supporting the small brands I love and the brands I share with you! It’s all so much fun for me! Pinching myself everyday.

Also thankful for dressing up–for pulling out one of my favorite dresses again. Oh the simple joys of blow drying your hair and putting on a dress again and how good that feels!!

I was reminded of back when R & W were really young and it was a feat for me to even make it into our backyard for an afternoon lounge / picnic. These small efforts that would bring me so much joy. It was such a great reminder to soak up these everyday moments!! They’re so precious.

Sending so much love! Happy March. x

I pulled this dress out of my closet again, which has proven to be such a great staple. I’ve worn it so much over the past year or so and also love it as a bathing suit cover up too if you’re headed somewhere for spring break. And it has pockets! I’m partial to the white but it also comes in black which I love.

My bag is Dragon Diffusion –– a brand I’ve carried for years now. I love their woven handbags so much for spring / summer. They’re so beautifully made… I’m always receiving compliments on mine. I also have this green style which I love for a color pop. And I’m obsessed with this style too in the black. I especially love that they’re non-logo / making them so understated for a chic spring / summer bag.

The Look |

On Sunday we made an olive oil citrus cake (recipe here). An older recipe that I pulled out again (one that my friend Kevin adapted for me a few years back from this girl’s night). It’s so moist and light and just one of my favorite desserts ever (if you’re an olive oil fan!)…

In other fun news––we launched a new harvest of olive oil with Prmry. I’m so proud of this partnership and proud to be supporting a rad female owned business like Prmry. The olive oil was milled in November 2021 and is made from Coratina olives grown locally here in Woodland, California. It’s robust in intensity, and has warm cinnamon and herbaceous notes, and pronounced bitterness and pepperiness. It’s super yummy, I hope you can all try it!

If baking, I like to cook with a more mild olive oil –– I used Cobram Estates olive oil for this cake recipe and then I use our Wrel x Prmry olive oil for dressing and enhancing flavors after the dishes are cooked. To truly savor the oil!

A sandal crush that I’m loving for spring from Jenni Kayne. I love the woven leather straps which are so beautiful and comfy. It’s such a chic sandal for dressing up but one that you can also wear everyday with denim shorts.

My little slices of happy!!
