This week in New York has reminded me of the first fall my guy and I moved to the city. I was on a permanent high that September–long into the holidays. The crisp mornings turn into delightfully warm days and evenings. We took full advantage of the weather and walked home from work most nights (which was a poke–57th to West 4th Street). I could also usually talk him into eating outside most nights (usually tacos or pizza on the corner of our block.)
I’m convinced there’s no other city as magical as fall in New York. Well, fall on the east coast in general is pretty special. The slightly cooler weather means I’ve been able to wear a few of the warmer layers that I brought with me like this St. John textured knit. I paired the knit here with a romper and western inspired boots but plan to wear it over a black slip dress with knee high boots or heeled booties again when I’m back in San Francisco.

Speaking of San Francisco ~ I’d love to invite you all to attend St. John’s Fall Fashion Event on September 24th at their store on Market Street from 6-8pm. I’ll be moderating a Q & A with St. John’s Chief Merchant, Aja Passero and am excited to hear more about her career in fashion, thoughts on personal style, and where she’s planning to take the brand.
AND anyone who attends the event will get the chance to win my look! Hope you can make it!
