Date Nights Post Baby -

I have to say some of my most favorite date nights with my guy yet (in all of our 13 years together) have been more recently, post baby. And that’s something I hadn’t anticipated prior to having Rex. Sure, they’re few and far between these days (mainly because we never get our act together soon enough to book our popular nanny for a Saturday night). But when we do, there’s something about the anticipation of having them scheduled out and on the calendar weeks in advance that makes them feel all the more special. There’s a sense of giddiness that takes me back to our first few dates and that summer we first met. It’s sort of that guilty feeling too… that maybe you’re out past curfew or doing something naughty.

I find myself having an extra glass of wine, just because I can, and just because I feel like I have to take full advantage of being out. Which always makes for an extra chit-chatty night on my end. We talk way too much about Rex, and are guilty of pulling up videos of him from the day. But it’s also chance to see each other in a new light, to talk about the articles we’ve been reading, dreams for the future… that stupid Youtube video he found online.

I also find myself planning my outfits weeks in advance, even if we’re just heading out for Chinese food. Before I might have worn whatever I had on during the day, and now I find myself excited to get dressed up. To slip into something sexy even. And low cut?!

This Alexander Wang dress is crazy comfy. The revealing cut makes wearing a bra tricky but then again it also makes going braless all the more appealing as that’s even comfier.
