Last week I decided to crash at my sister’s in San Francisco for a week-long staycation since my guy had been traveling for work for the past couple weeks. Sure enough, hanging in my favorite city with close girlfriends was just what I needed! I made it to two concerts–Beyonce’s Formation Tour included with my college gals!–spent an afternoon at the newly renovated MOMA (so beautiful, a must go soon!), celebrated my cousin’s birthday with an aggressive amount of pizza, stopped by Gwyenth Paltrow’s Goop Pop-Up, watched multiple chick flicks in bed while cuddling with my sis, and indulged in our fair share of bites around the city. It was the best. Even though I’m in the city almost weekly, it was nice to have an extended amount of time to soak up my city favorites and spend some quality time with my girlfriends.
Everyone always asks me if I want to move back to San Francisco. Last year my answer would have been yes, I’ll move tomorrow! But since buying our house and settling into Sacramento more I’m now singing a different tune. As much as I love to get my city fix I’m really happy with my free parking (in our own driveway–I got 2 parking tickets while in SF last week which didn’t make me miss living there), extra closet space, warmer temps… and our relaxed lifestyle. So as much fun as it was hanging in SF for a week it sure felt good to be back home and to have my guy back too.
And about the look! My mom and I bought these culottes to share. We are both shorties (I’m 5’1″ and she’s 5’3″) and have had a hard time finding a pair of wide leg cropped denim that we liked / fit us in the length. We found this particular pair from Frame on the sale rack at one of my favorite boutiques on Fillmore, Elizabeth Charles and thought why not give them a try. I’m still not 100% sold, but it was fun to sport them for the day around the city. My mom has been pairing them with flats while I feel like I need some height and put on the only pair of heels I had with me for the week.
Also, I’m just so in love with Ulla Johnson this season. I want her entire collection (you may remember my ode to her spring line here!). This blouse was also another recent Elizabeth Charles mother-daughter shopping date find. I can’t get enough of the sweet detailing and pretty blush color. Feels good to wear lighter colors and move more of my black pieces to the back of my closet.
The Look | Ulla Johnson Blouse (also love in white and the dress version). Frame Denim Culottes. See by Chloé Mules. Isabel Marant Trench (this season’s style–on sale also love). Celine Sunglasses.
