My girlfriend Susan told me that there’s just something about my energy that changes when I’m in more of a hustle-bustle-like setting. And it’s so true–I can sense it too. I’ve really grown to appreciate my slower paced lifestyle in Sacramento, especially now with Rex, but there’s something in me that truly feels alive or most myself if that makes sense when I’m in a busier city. Even just getting out of my East Sac / Midtown bubble for the afternoon and popping into Downtown (which you guys is seriously just blocks away) was all I needed. Give me some grit, city noise, a perfectly slouchy striped knit, a rad hat and I’m a new lady. It’s not New York but I was sure walking with an extra pep of confidence in my step yesterday!
You know I’m a hat girl–they just seem to make any look feel complete (and cooler)–and I finally found my perfect everyday fedora thanks to Janessa Leone. I’m constantly picking up new hat styles mainly when traveling and I can’t tell you how good this one is (the Alara–which stay tuned she’s bringing it back soon!). I prefer stiffened wool felt styles over floppy and this one is extra sturdy. For a handmade in America design Janessa Leone’s price point just can’t be beat.
