Up until this week I’ve been calm and cool about this whole pregnancy, labor, baby thing. Baby boy has been very sweet to me making these past 35 weeks an easy (and enjoyable!) ride. I keep thinking ah, I’ve got time. Do I really need all of those things?,… I’ll learn / figure it out as I go. And then my doctor informed me: “babies come anywhere between 35 and 42 weeks. You’ve made it!–game on.”
And so it hit me–oh my gosh we’re really doing this–and the freak out moment: I don’t know anything about newborns or what I’m doing! I found myself frantically calling my girlfriends asking what else I need to do to prep, and speed reading through the books I’ve neglected. A part of me wants baby boy to come early because I’m too gosh darn excited to meet him but the other part of me is thinking a few more weeks of preparation (and time to get the nursery ready) would be nice! I highly doubt he’ll come anytime this soon but it’s pretty rad to know I’ve gotten him this far along with a healthy little heartbeat and that’s all I could hope for.
A note about this dress | Heidi Merrick does gauzy, easy cotten dresses so well! I lived in this cream style (now on sale) this past summer and have found it’s the perfect thing for our California weather. And as you can see as a 5’1” gal it hits much longer on me than the model but I really loved this mid-length.
