Office Makeover

Well, after months of living in our “2” bedroom apartment but really just keeping one bedroom closed off and exclaiming to everyone that came over “you definitely don’t want to go in there,” I’m excited to say it’s now officially a 2 bedroom pad! As in you can walk into that other room. AND, you’d think that cleaning out those final boxes from our move might have been the best part, but actually the most exciting thing is that I’ve turned this spare room into a shared work space. Well that, and this epic collage wall which I’ve been wanting to do since spotting this. (You know I love collaging).

My guy and I often find ourselves working from the couch together in the evenings and on the weekends but we really needed more space (mainly for all of his papers and memos that seem to take over the coffee table). It’s funny, even though we have a larger apartment now we still find ourselves reverting back to our cozy New York ways. Eating, working, hanging around our coffee table was the norm hence why it took us months to turn that spare room into a functioning space. So anyway, I had this idea to move our bar table that we had in the kitchen area (it’s too tall for that space anyway) into that spare room. I love my little desk set-up in our main family room but this way we can spread out, and sit together comfortably.

There actually isn’t overhead lighting in this room so out came the twinkly lights! (Along with another lamp).

Besides creating a workspace for my guy and I to use, I had been tossing around the idea of a work-share space with my friend Michelle, and she’s excited to come work out of my apartment from time to time now too! The room is still a work in progress, but I’m pretty excited to have some company around these parts.
