I’ve had this idea to host a glamorous yet boho party for sometime now. I had the perfect spot in mind: my in-law’s rustic property just across the creek from their house (where I hosted my husband’s 30th), as well as the ideal models: my shop Syllabus girls (they’re all total babes!). So when the opportunity came about to style my shop girls in BHLDN’s latest collection I knew I had to execute the bohemian meets champagne-filled afternoon I had been dreaming up! I loved the idea of these beautiful gowns juxtaposed in such a rugged environment, and after some additional brainstorming the main theme of summer wanderlust set the stage.
The girls were styled in the dreamiest of gowns in a pretty nude and pale pink palette. With dresses that glamorous, little accessorizing is needed but I adorned each girl with a delicate hand chain or beaded necklace for that added cool girl vibe. Their curls were teased and eyes were given a sultry touch. Nothing too overdone, but completely carefree. Just as summer style should be.
A beaded fringe hammock was hung in the trees. Lanterns, votives, and layered rugs set the scene. Cheese and desserts were served on a Moroccan platter that has been in my husband’s family for years. I tested my guitar skills, we played a mean game of Go Fish, and chilled Veuve Clicquot was sipped. It really was the dreamiest of afternoons–celebrating and getting to play dress up with my girls–and hands down, one of my favorite shoots to dream up and style to date!
