I’ve discovered the trick to making any new place feel homey: 1) ask your family members for furniture hand-me-downs (we gained a few gems this past weekend from my in-laws) and 2) add textures to the floors and walls with rugs and art. Adding a mix of both on Saturday instantly made our place feel all the more homey. We have plenty of wall space to still fill but just hanging a few mirrors, laying down a couple rugs, and adding a few pieces of furniture with history and a special family story has made all of the difference. Oh and I should also add a bonus number 3) burn candles. This is always my answer.
I’m all about taking my time finding eclectic pieces that add character to a room and have discovered a new decor crush for one-of-a-kind textiles. Enter the newest kid on the block (of Sacramento Street in San Francisco): St. Frank. Whether looking for indigo pillows, framed textiles (I’m obsessed), colorful turkish rugs, or a unique selection of coffee table books this spot is right up my alley–and I’m sure it will be up yours too! We all know Black Friday is right around the corner but so is Shop Small Saturday (November 28th) so be sure to add this one to your local San Francisco list of musts to check out.
Ended up going home with this rug–I loved the colors. It’s now in our entryway as you walk in our front door.
It’s been fun getting to know Founder and CEO, Christina–and to learn more about the St. Frank story. She’s such a sweet, cool and inspiring one!
And how cool are their shopping bags? Indigo printed–yes please!
