This moody spring weather has had my girlfriend Kristine and I planning various girls’ nights in. We’ve been upgrading our happy hours with fun little projects like last week’s floral arranging kick and previously climbing up into her attic to paint. I hadn’t pulled out my set of acrylics in months–last seen on this rainy night–so my painting skills were quite rusty… but regardless I always find it to be so relaxing.
Kristine impressed me with her crostini making skills–and now I’m on kick, and have been experimenting with new unique combinations myself.
Crostini’s | grilled pear + guada cheese drizzled with honey. mushrooms grilled in coconut oil.
We climbed up into the lofted attic space of her new midtown apartment, threw down a few floor pillows and spent the rest of the evening catching up. It was the perfect space to get our painting on. Next up: I’m inviting myself over for her next attic movie night.
Tip | Upgrade happy hour by bringing out your pretty dishes and barware. Try a new recipe (crostini’s are great because they’re so simple to make and are always a crowd pleaser–a nice change from carrots and hummus). And incorporate a fun project or game.
