When I received an invite to Lonny Magazine and Shelter Co.’s Friendsgiving a couple weeks back I just assumed it would be held in the city.  After taking a second look at the invitation and discovering it was in my neck of the woods (Winters), I immediately RSVP’d with a secret happy dance as I wouldn’t have to travel far.  I’ve been soaking up all of my fall friend get togethers this season as I know I’m about to go into a bit of a winter (a.k.a. baby) hibernation mode.  And it was just such a treat to hang with some of my favorite Bay Area peeps a bit closer to home… for once!
My girlfriends and I ventured out through the most stunning of golden fields just as the sun was setting and were greeted with one of the most magical twinkly-tent-filled set-ups.  It was one of those perfectly low-key evenings filled with old and new friends, yummy comfort food (I had to go back for seconds of the chili ), cocktails and craft time (no whiskey for me but I did make a pretty sweet feathered art piece for the baby room), and a cast iron grilled apple pie served fireside.  Definitely a Friendsgiving for the books!  My guy had to work late so I brought my girlfriend Susan who captured the picturesque evening better than I ever could.  Hope these photos inspire you to gather your friends and put you in the bonfire-making spirit for the weekend–I know we’ll be making fires every night over at our house this weekend.  Looking forward to a cozy and crisp one (and maybe a baby showing up!)!
