It’s been quite the surreal couple of weeks for me as I watched SYLLABUS come together after months of dreaming, mood-boarding, planning, construction and, of course, shopping! We celebrated the launch of our new women’s store with close friends and family this past weekend and I’ve been on a permanent-high since. I had always dreamed of opening my own store one day but never thought the opportunity would ever present itself. I’ve been so happy and so sleep deprived that I hadn’t really had a chance to soak it all in until last night. I locked the doors at the end of day 2 and just stood outside staring in our windows for a couple of minutes. Such an overwhelming feeling, and I can’t thank my partners, our rockstar team, and my friends and family enough for all of their support!
I’ll be sharing more of the decor pics soon but for now you can get a feel for the space from these party pics.
Giving my girlfriend Kelly a peek at our jewels (and my custom jewelry box–thanks Russell!).
My five all-time favorite RGB nail colors.
Two of my favorite guys (T and my father-in-law).
Our SYLLABUS shop girls (stop in and meet them if you’re in Chico)!
My dad and his buddies enjoying the Caricature vino.
The coolest chalk candles I found this summer while in Santa Barbara.
And my personal highlight of the night: Mayhem! grilled cheese!
I have to say that one of the best parts of this whole process has been spending more time in my hometown and reacquainting myself with it’s charm. I’ve loved discovering new Chico gems–like our contractor, Jeremy’s, amazingly bomb grilled cheese truck. I asked Jeremy if he would park his truck outside of our store on Saturday night and it was the best decision I’ve made in a while (although SYLLABUS is high up there too, wink wink).
Thank you, thank you for your love and support as I take on this new venture!
