A little backwards here as I already mentioned my excitement for 2017 (I’m never good about yearly recaps but I found some time this week thanks to my in-laws who came to hold Rex for a few hours so I could get some work done!)–but I enjoyed taking a look back on the year.
2016 was officially the year of the bump. And I surprised myself with how much I loved that bump and enjoyed my pregnancy. Baby boy was so sweet to me all those months. I was glad to hear you all enjoyed reading about my pregnancy essentials and pregnancy beauty regime.
Before baby boy made his debut I made sure to make as much progress on the house as possible. Gallery walls were finished, moroccan rugs were purchased, shelves were styled, I happily shared the downstairs before and after progress, and we made way on the upstairs remodel too! Finishing the master bathroom and baby boy’s room just in time. In fact, I just finished putting together Rex’s room over the holidays so I’ll be sharing that with you soon.
I entertained!–hosting a romantic (hello upcoming Valentine’s Day inspiration!) moroccan themed dinner party, a Cinco de Mayo party, backyard picnics, happy hours, and a number of barbecues just to name a few. Any excuse to gather friends!
Between the house projects and my baby bump, I found myself home more than ever this year which made me really appreciate and grow to love Sacramento more. We did however manage to sneak in as many mini weekend trips as possible. The highlight was definitely our summer vacation down south to Ojai and Palm Springs. And staying at this gem of a boutique hotel takes the cake.
But of course, the highlight of the year came when our sweet boy arrived on Thanksgiving Day. This holiday season couldn’t have been more special and memorable.
