Cashing in that end-of-the-summer vacay was much needed–and we just arrived home feeling so refreshed! There were many highlights from our road trip south but I have to say this past weekend, staying at the Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs, was truly something special. Out of all of the places I’ve stayed in PS this has by far been my favorite experience. What a gem, I’m obsessed! I had seen this Moroccan bed and breakfast pop up in my instagram feed but it wasn’t until one of my more recent trips to the desert that I went to check it out in person–and I have been dying to stay there ever since.
Part Moroccan, part Mediterranean villa–the pensione has incredible history and charm, offering the perfect romantic getaway. We arrived late on the first evening and now we can’t imagine a better way to arrive than walking into the candlelit property. So magical! The Korakia plays black and white movies outside each night, offers a delicious homemade breakfast in the adorable courtyard each morning, and is a unique tucked away escape from the usual Palm Springs pool scenes. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat to relax and refresh, this spot is for you. If you’re looking to drink poolside cocktails with your girls than this spot is not the right choice (as they have noise / music rules that aren’t ideal for say a bachelorette group). BUT, they do rent out the property for weddings and events which looks so so dreamy! Also, we didn’t realize when we booked, but it turns out the Korakia doesn’t allow children under 13, so we’re glad we fit this one in pre-baby!
Ultimate lounge setup for evening movies.
Breakfast in this cute little courtyard each morning (the menu changes daily)!
We stayed in the Aegean Bungalow (on the Mediterranean side of the property). We loved our room and would definitely stay here again although we want to experience the other rooms too! This room was right off the pool which was nice (and in our opinion we much preferred this pool over the pool on the Moroccan side as it feels more private). Another bonus is that most rooms have kitchens and refrigerators so you can cook and bring your own beverages / cocktails.
This bed! I slept the best I’ve slept in a long time.
Morning bocce–yes please!
It was crazy hot in the desert but that didn’t stop us from taking advantage of this cute fire pit scene. I mean, those chairs!
