We’ve all seen photos of The Grand Canyon, but you really can’t put into words how overwhelmingly grand it actually is. As we hopped off the tourist-filled shuttle bus towards our first lookout point of the day we all quickly fell silent. I, for one, was so moved that I loudly exclaimed: “wow.” Or perhaps it was two words: “oh wow.” Regardless, it was very eloquently put. Seriously though, if this view doesn’t put things in perspective then I don’t know what will.
As someone who’s deathly afraid of heights, even just looking back through these photos makes me nervous. I’m still not quite sure why I felt the need to get that close to the ledge (multiple times!)… because I’ve had a few recurring nightmares almost every night since. True story.
After spending all of Saturday hiking around, snapping photos, and later grabbing a glass of wine at the El Tovar we decided–when at The Grand Canyon–chasing the sun in hopes of catching an epic sunset was a must. We didn’t get that epic sunset, but the view from Kipling Point really was one of the best. Plus, this photo below of us at dusk (minus Natalie who was there laughing with us as well but from behind the lens!) is my favorite from the trip. Grand Canyon success! Now I want to head back again soon with my guy.
