A drive into San Francisco for a stop at the flower mart followed by lunch with a couple of girlfriends, and a little shopping pit stop at the Marin Country Mart before heading back home… yeah these photos basically document my most perfect day. Highlights included: lots and lots of pretty flowers (obviously), inspiring car ride conversations (my radio is currently broken which is a total bummer for long drives but who needs music when you have your girlfriends along in the car with you), my kale fix at Rustic Bakery, amazing woven basket sale scores, and really really good cheese from a new cheese and wine shop: Fisher’s.
11am | Crossing over into the city.
My mom’s side of the family is from Oakland and Marin so growing up I have many memories of the drive to the Bay. It’s a drive I love (which is good because I do it often!). As soon as I’m out of the Berkley grid-lock and on the Bay Bridge I turn up the tunes as the approaching view of the city never gets old.
12pm | My mini floral assistant… all smiles helping me navigate the SF Flower Mart.
I was in charge of creating the floral arrangements for my Uncle’s celebration of life so we poured a lot of love into our duties (Rex and I). My Uncle lived in Tahoe and loved the outdoors so I chose lots of wild and masculine seeming blooms and a big bundle of dogwood branches.
Hey, what are those… can I eat them?
1pm | Back on the road in route to Marin for lunch.
The Look | Q Tee. Rachel Comey Pants (on repeat this summer!–snag the look for less). Raen Sunglasses. Chloé Bag.
1:30pm | Marin Country Mart for lunch at Rustic Bakery before stopping in a few shops. It’s my go-to–they have delicious salads, quiche, and sandwiches.
2:30pm | Chatting with Kiri Fisher about her newly opened Fisher’s Cheese and Wine shop. For the cheese-obsessed, this cute cheese and wine cafe is an adorable addition to the Country Mart. They have an amazing selection perfect for picking up meats and cheeses for entertaining. And all of the beverages are selected to pair perfectly with their selection. Fun Fact: When I first moved to San Francisco years ago I lived just down the street from The Cheese School in North Beach that Kiri also runs.
3pm | What… these are on sale?! Snagged two for future picnicking and farmer’s market runs. Found at Hudson Grace just across the path from Fisher’s.
4pm | Headed home–fingers crossed we don’t get stuck in traffic!
6pm | Back home… but unfortunately locked out of our house (oops forgot the key!) so we decided to stop by Gather. Oak Park’s neighborhood street fair for a little summer evening fun. Live music, running into friends, and a cold beverage…
6:30pm | My girlfriend Maia’s adorable Bitte stand at Gather. Three girlfriends had babies this week so I was in need of a few gifts. Picked up a few things for Rex too… couldn’t help myself.
Such good energy.
