A Sunday Night Bath Ritual

A Sunday Night Bath Ritual

A Sunday night ritual gets me into the right mindset for the week ahead, it’s like the calm before the storm and makes getting up on Monday morning just a little bit easier!  My husband and I love to cozy up and watch a show together on Sunday nights but more recently I’ve been opting for less screen time in favor of self-care.  One of my favorite Sunday activities is setting up an evening bath, which I’ve found is such an easy way to elevate your self-care routine and create some me-time.  Aside from being one of the most calming ways to spend some time and unplug, a bath also offers up the chance to relax and use some of my favorite products.  Here’s what my ritual is looking like as of late…

So here’s the setup | Get your lighting in order by lighting some of your favorite candles and dimming the lights. You’ll already feel so much calmer with the low-lighting. If a scented candle isn’t your thing, I also love a spritz of rose water spray or some fresh lavender for an extra calming vibe. You could also set up some tunes with your favorite meditative playlist. The biggest thing is taking some time to just unplug for a little while without any distractions – if you’ve got your music on your phone, keep it on the other side of the room to keep yourself from scrolling through social media.  For me, this is my time to dive into my neglected stack of magazines… or just take some time to let my mind wander and think.  My husband swears he does his best thinking in the bath.

As you get the water going, a couple drops of essential oils or bath salts make for an extra treat-yourself moment.  Other bath time essentials include a cozy robe to curl up in, a hydrating face mask, and maybe even a body brush to exfoliate with for extra soft skin. Grab some magazines or your favorite book (keep a small towel on the side just in case your hands get wet and you need to turn some pages!) and just relax!

Take time for extra exfoliation!  A fave: Jo Malone London’s Geranium & Walnut Body Scrub.

I love using body oils to moisturize and just got a fresh new bottle of one of my very favorites: Pure Radiance Body Oil by True Botanicals.  Leaves my skin feeling so good!  For those who aren’t familiar, this is an amazing clean, non-toxic skincare brand–based in Northern California.  After drying off I take my time getting ready for bed using my favorite face oils, and serums.

Not only is it just the best way to unwind from the weekend and reset for the new week… but I promise you’ll have the best night sleep!  How do you like to spend your Sunday evenings?
